Questions arose from the House debate of 4 October about the accessibility of C-support. In that context, we have retrieved figures on how many patients are not reachable after registration and with how many people no intake was conducted after registration. The period we looked at is from April 2023 to October 2023.
We use 3 mediums to establish contact, namely WhatsApp, mail and telephone. It often happens that patients are not reachable in all three ways or do not respond to our contact attempts. In the period from April 2023 to October 2023, 3,4% of the patients not reached by us of the total 3.824 files created in that period. 96,6% were reached. These are a total of 130 patients.
To provide clarity about our registration procedure, we have added text about this to our registration page. This way, patients who want to register know better how and in what way they will be contacted. And that if the contact attempts are unsuccessful, the file will be closed again. They can then report to patient contact and information via 073-4400440 to have their file reopened.
NB: In healthcare, the average no-show percentage is 4%. Not being reachable is of course not the same as a no-show, but it does put the figure of 3,4% into perspective.
