Impression of the innovation mission
Data & health collaboration France-Netherlands
An innovation mission took place in Paris on Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 November. The mission focused on data & health with a focus on COVID-19. The organisation was in the hands of the embassy. The intended goal was to exchange information about research, data collection, data analysis, modelling and monitoring of COVID-19 related areas. Relevant participants were selected from organisations, companies and research institutes for this purpose. Annemieke de Groot, managing director and Peter Tieleman, data specialist, participated in this two-day innovation mission on behalf of C-support. A lot of knowledge was shared about ongoing projects and research related to COVID-19.
Aftercare model C-support
In the presentation of C-support, the emphasis was placed on the origin, content and development of the C-support aftercare model. In this model, we look at all areas where the disease intervenes; physical and mental health, work and income and social life. C-support stood out positively because of the holistic service that is now offered to almost 9.000 patients.
New research in collaboration with Erasmus MC
The research project in collaboration with Erasmus MC has also been explained. In this research, the long-term consequences on 11 different domains will be investigated. The research is comparable to the QVS research currently being conducted among Q fever patients with QVS (Q fever fatigue syndrome).
Several speakers from the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport and the embassy provided information on relevant policy and developments in this area. In practice, it is not easy for researchers to exchange data with each other. This is mainly due to current technical facilities and legal regulations. However, interesting solutions are being developed to improve and lower the threshold for data exchange. This would make it easier for researchers to obtain more data.
