The media has given the impression that C-support researches and offers guidance on histamine-free diets and/or prescribes medication for them. However, this is not the case. C-support has an advisory function. In doing so, we answer questions (also about diets and medication). Where it is deemed useful, we consult with the GP about providing guidance on advice or prescribing medication.
The theory that is being referred to in the media is a low-histamine (or free) diet, combined with antihistamines to calm the overactive immune system. This theory has not been proven effective for post-covid complaints.
C-support advocates research into treatments for post-covid complaints. Nutrition can be a part of that. However, C-support has no executive role in research.
