Impression of an exciting meeting
Today was the symposium on scientific research post-COVID for professionals in the field. Researchers presented (parts of) their research and data. The audience was lucky enough to hear unpublished data as well. Information was shared about the current status of research, lessons learned and a glimpse into wishes for the near future.
The conclusion we can draw from this day is that, despite the thoughts of some that research is slow, a lot is happening in the Netherlands and cross-references between data and research results are possible. More and more (inter)national studies also show similar results in overlapping components, which only strengthens the data. Collaboration in the field of post-COVID research is also growing and is being facilitated more professionally, for example by the establishment of the post-COVID Network Netherlands. The thoughts were that more (biomedical) research is needed for all post-infectious diseases (PAIS) such as QVS, ME/CFS, Lyme, Sepsis.
More than 400 interested parties, both on location and in the livestream, were present today to listen to the selection of studies that were presented. The presentations (video) can soon be viewed on our website. Below you will find the slides of the various presentations (with the exception of a number of slides that were presented confidentially and cannot yet be shared publicly due to publications).
Thanks to all researchers, ZonMw and the Province of North Brabant. We are already looking forward to the next edition!
