As of March 6, 2025, Menne Scherpenzeel has joined the Supervisory Board of C-support. His area of focus is patient participation.
At the end of 2025, Frank van Beers stepped down as chairman of the Supervisory Board. Hester Rippen-Wagner was already a member of the Board and accepted the chairmanship at the request of the other members. This made her position as a member available and with it the focus area of patient participation. After an extensive application procedure, in which, among other things, the Patient and Experience Experts Platform of C-support was also involved, Menne Schepenzeel was appointed as Member of the Supervisory Board with the focus area of patient participation.
In daily life, Menne is director of patient organization Crohn & Colitis NL and partner at consultancy firm Blauwe Noordzee. At Crohn & Colitis NL, he has gained a lot of experience in safeguarding patient perspective in the field of care and research. Crohn & Colitis are a chronic disease that not only has a medical impact, but also has an impact on mental well-being, social life and on work & income. Menne therefore sees similarities between post-COVID and Crohn & Colitis. In addition, he works with a number of patient organizations and the Dutch Patients Federation on the medicine file. He is also chairman of the advisory committee of the Disabled Sports Fund.
