On Tuesday 5 July, the House of Representatives approved the motion by Hijink (SP) and Paulusma (D66). In the motion, the submitters ask the government to set up a national expertise centre where knowledge and experience can be collected for the treatment of Post COVID and other infectious diseases.
Role of C-support
As C-support we have advised VWS on an integrated approach to aftercare for people with a complex post-infectious syndrome. C-support believes that the current supply is insufficient for the group with the most complex problems due to fragmented or insufficient knowledge. Patients are often sent back and forth between their GP and various specialisms such as lung specialist, cardiologist, neurologist etc. without results and are given tests that do not reveal anything special.
C-support is very pleased with the approval of the motion. We would like to see specialist teams formed within the special clinics yet to be established, in which various disciplines work together and deal with the diagnosis and treatment of the patient group with the most complex profile.
Reconnaissance
At the moment, the clinics for treatments have not yet been set up and it is being explored what is needed for this. People cannot yet be put on a waiting list.
As soon as more information becomes available, we will post it on our site.
