COVID-19 can cause persistent symptoms long after infection. Approximately 1 in 10 people who have had COVID-19 symptoms suffer from long-term symptoms, such as fatigue, shortness of breath and loss of condition, but also headaches, muscle pain, loss of smell and taste and psychosocial complaints. Some people are still unable to fully pick up the thread of life after weeks or months. Attention to recovery care for these Long COVID patients is therefore important. This often requires the involvement of multiple disciplines.
The collaboration between different (para)medical disciplines in recovery care at home is not yet self-evident in many places. Vilans conducted discussions with patients, district nurses, paramedics, general practitioners and social workers, where the need for more connection emerged. Short lines, knowing who you need for what, and above all to get started; 'seeking each other out' to work together on the patient's recovery.
Vilans made a overview of disciplines involved in recovery care at home. Per discipline you see what the role in recovery care is, what experiences there are, and what the added value of cooperation is.
