Patient organizations join forces
The House of Representatives will vote on the amendment by MP Bushoff on February 15. With this amendment, he requests the government to invest 27 million euros in the establishment of post-COVID outpatient clinics. A petition has been launched by patient organizations to support this amendment. C-support is regularly asked by patients whether it is desirable for them to sign this petition. C-support cannot advise on this matter; whether someone signs a petition is a personal decision.
An amendment is a request to adjust the budget. In his amendment regarding post-COVID outpatient clinics, Bushoff proposed allocating 27 million for a pilot with post-COVID clinics. The Minister has indicated that she understands the desire in substance, but has a number of reservations regarding the amendment . Therefore, she has advised the House against this amendment.
Expertise contributed
From a substantive perspective, C-support is very supportive of the idea of post-COVID clinics. Over the past few years, we have contributed our expertise on this matter at various levels and within diverse bodies. However, there is still no agreement among the various parties regarding how these clinics should be established and organized , or how this should be secured in the future. At the end of February, a meeting with all involved parties, organized by the Ministry, will take place to reach a consensus on this matter. C-support will also be present. We look forward to this meeting so that we can provide direction on this in the future through joint agreement.
