Dutch ME/CFS Cohort and Biobank (NMCB)
For the research of the Dutch ME/CFS Cohort and Biobank (NMCB), a team of researchers is looking for people with post-COVID who want to participate. The NMCB is an eight-year collaboration between Dutch research institutions, medical centers and patient organizations.
It is a scientific study into post-infectious syndromes such as myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS), but also post-COVID, Q fever fatigue syndrome (QFS) and Lyme are included in the study. These post-infectious conditions have overlapping symptoms, including severe fatigue, concentration and memory problems and muscle pain. Because of these similarities, they include people with post-COVID, QFS, Lyme in their study to better understand the common underlying mechanisms of these diseases. By studying a diverse group of patients, they want to gain insights that can lead to more effective treatments for these conditions. For this study, they are looking for patients but also people without health complaints.
During the research, they collect blood, urine and possibly other body materials, which they store for additional research. This can help them gain more insight into the functioning of these diseases and to develop new treatment options.
If you are interested in participating in this study, you can register via the research portal for biomedical research (postcovidonderzoek.nl) via the button below. People with post-COVID can register there for research by Post-COVID Network Netherlands, which also includes the NMCB biobank in addition to post-COVID research. If people give permission in the registration questionnaire to be approached for further research, and indicate that they are interested in biobank research, they can be approached for this by researchers from the NMCB.
