In the 2023 public annual report, we look back on our activities in that year, based on our three main themes: integrated aftercare, knowledge sharing and research. We will publish the financial annual report at the end of May.
In 2023, important steps were taken in the research into post-COVID and improving the care for post-COVID patients. Scientists have now shown that various physical causes can underlie the complaints. This is not only important for further research, but also for recognizing and acknowledging the complex clinical picture.
And although for many COVID-19 seems to have disappeared into the background, we see the consequences of a COVID infection every day. In 2023, more than seven thousand new people with post-COVID registered with C-support. And also almost four hundred people with long-term complaints after a COVID-19 vaccination. We were able to help many of them with advice, a listening ear and telling their story. With all these experiences, our knowledge and insights into the problems of these target groups grew.
We have been able to share our knowledge about post-infectious conditions such as post-COVID and complaints after vaccination on many different fronts. Both in the healthcare landscape, around research but also focused on policy making. In this way we have been able to contribute to the recognition, acknowledgement and improvement of care for these target groups.
