On June 17, 2025, the Financieele Dagblad published an article in which three patient organizations criticized Q-support and C-support.
We feel the despair and helplessness of patients and also understand that it sometimes focuses on us. Things can always be improved. Where we can, we improve or change. Our colleagues are committed to patients with heart and soul. Every day we see the impact of illness and how people get stuck in the system. That affects us. We cannot make them better, but we do try to clear the way where possible.
Our help is still needed
The large number of patients we support shows that our help is still needed. From customer satisfaction surveys and other patient feedback, we see that the vast majority of them are helped enormously and value our support very much.
Through the conversations of our advisors with patients, we see that the reasons why our organizations were founded are still present. In the regular field, great steps are being taken, but is not yet ready to offer these patients the care and support they need.
Difference of perspective
Some patients and patient organisations have certain ideas about what we should do or what our role should be. Our role, what we do and do not do, is determined by the conditions of our subsidy and the (im)possibilities in the regular field. We understand the frustration of patients who do not yet receive the care they need, but we cannot always solve this. You can read what we do and do not do on this page.
Collaboration between patients and patient organizations
The intention of Q-support and C-support is to work together with patients and patient organizations in a good, constructive way. Patients are actively involved in projects and in changes to patient services. We do this through discussions, sounding boards, panels and our Patient and Expert by Experience Platform, who advises the organization, whether solicited or unsolicited, on policy and services.
Many of our employees work together with patient organizations in various areas. That contact is going well. We strive for good formal cooperation with patient organizations. So that together – each from our own role – we can focus our time and energy on what really matters: good care and support for patients.
