CoVacc study
It is no longer possible to register for this study.
The UMC Utrecht is investigating through the CoVacc study whether vulnerable children will have sufficient protection in the future with one corona jab instead of two, when they are vaccinated for the first time. In addition, they want to see how well it offers protection against possible new corona variants, up to 12 months after the last jab.
This fall, only children with vulnerable health will receive an invitation letter from their pediatrician for the corona vaccination. They can use this to be vaccinated at the GGD. Children with Long COVID are currently not part of the target group of vulnerable children. For parents with children aged 5 to 12, who have NOT yet been vaccinated, but would like to have them vaccinated, there is the possibility to participate in the CoVacc study.
Vaccination may reduce the risk of re-infection for child and/or parent. When participating, children are randomly assigned to one or two vaccinations. A number of visits to the research center at the UMC in Utrecht are also linked to this, and blood is taken a few times to measure the reaction to the vaccine.
