A post-COVID patient comes to the doctor. You recognize multiple symptoms and you know how to give the patient the right advice and refer them to the right healthcare provider for further guidance. Great! Another post-COVID patient comes to the doctor. What this patient describes to you only partially matches the clinical picture that you recognize. What do you do?
The post-COVID patient does not exist. But how can you provide the right care? And how do you prevent the patient from being sent from pillar to post?
During this interactive online training you will learn more about:
- what post-COVID (formerly long covid) is;
- the complexity of post-COVID for both the healthcare provider and the patient. How do you deal with the heterogeneous clinical picture that comes with post-COVID, including characteristic phenomena PEM (Post-Exertional Malaise) and orthostatic intolerance such as POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome)?;
- what the similarities (and differences) are with other post-infectious conditions such as Q fever fatigue syndrome (QFS) and ME/CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome);
- practical tools for, among other things, making the diagnosis.
