No, the WIA assessment takes place after two years. No exception is made for post-COVID patients. However, it was possible for an employer to receive a subsidy for the extension of a third year of illness for people who became ill between March 2020 and December 2020. This subsidy scheme no longer applies. Employers can voluntarily choose to extend a third year of illness, but they must then continue to pay at their own expense.
