Should I get vaccinated after a corona infection? Is one vaccination sufficient? We receive many questions of this kind. We always follow the advice of the RIVM. See below for the answers to the most frequently asked questions.
I had corona more than four weeks ago. Should I get vaccinated?
Vaccination is sensible. Even if you have already had corona. One vaccination is sufficient for good protection. In some cases, you need two vaccinations. This applies if:
- you are over 80 years old.
- your immune system is not working properly, causing you to become ill more quickly.
- you have had corona without a positive corona test. We see this a lot in people who were infected during the first corona wave.
If you have had corona less than four weeks ago, it is wise to wait a little longer with your vaccination. Your GP or an employee of the GGD will discuss this with you.

I had corona three months ago or longer and still have symptoms. Should I get vaccinated?
In case of long-term corona complaints, it is wise to get vaccinated. One vaccination is then sufficient for good protection. Is your immune system not working properly, causing you to get sick quickly? Then you need two vaccinations. The GP or employee of the GGD will discuss this with you before you get your vaccination.
What are the consequences of a vaccination on my long-term corona complaints?
The long-term corona complaints that you now have may (temporarily) decrease or temporarily increase due to the vaccination. But it is also possible that your corona complaints remain the same due to the vaccination. In any case, the risks of a new corona infection are much greater than the possible side effects of the vaccination. Tip! Try to get enough rest in the days before and after your vaccination. This will protect your body from overload.
