Today, Minister Hugo de Jonge paid a working visit to C-support. He spoke with great interest and at length with long COVID patients and employees. He was impressed by the compelling patient stories.
Director Annemieke de Groot welcomed the minister and presented various figures on the people who have registered with C-support. The minister was also curious about the national figures on the number of Long COVID patients and the nature of their complaints. C-support has so far mainly reached the more digitally skilled target groups. With the recently renewed website, other target groups will also increasingly be able to find their way to C-support.
Three Long COVID patients told the minister how the disease affects their lives. Not only physical complaints but also the consequences of the long-term complaints on their work, study progress, financial situation and bereavement. The stories underlined the integral approach that C-support advocates: offering support in all areas in which this disease affects.
Hugo de Jonge concluded the working visit with an appeal to the 1.8 million people who have not yet been vaccinated to do so quickly. To prevent more people from developing serious health problems.
