An inspiring visit with valuable insights and conversations
On November 25, Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport Fleur Agema and several policy advisors paid a working visit to Q-support and C-support. Together with aftercare advisors and patients, we talked about what Q-support and C-support do for patients and why aftercare for Q-patients, post-COVID patients and patients with complaints after vaccination is so indispensable.
On recognition and acknowledgement, the minister said: “These patients’ lives often stand still after all this time, while there is still very little known about their condition. I understand that this can be lonely. That is why I think it is important that we recognise and acknowledge these conditions, but also that we support them as best we can. Q and C support are there to help them. So that these patients know that they are not alone and that there is cooperation on many fronts to improve their situation.
We discussed the importance of knowledge sharing because many (healthcare) professionals still do not know enough about these conditions and their consequences. We also discussed the importance of research. The minister received the report on two years of research into post-COVID in collaboration with Erasmus MC. A study that provides a compelling picture of the impact of post-COVID on the lives of patients. Read the results in the field of health, impact on life and healthcare use and the recommendations for society, care & support and follow-up research in the investigation report or for public summary.
